Dear Friends,
The violence in Kenya has spread to the Nakuru area. Please pray for the safety of Joseph & Jotham, and his family, and all involved. There is a military presence there rightnow so we are hoping that will quell some of the violence.
Please pray for Their friend George who was hacked by machete this morning. He has 3 children, and is going to school to be a Pastor. Jotham & Pastor Lloyd took him to the hospital.
Pray for our boys Joseph, and Dominic, as they have been forced from their tiny little home, and we are hoping that they are heading to the police Dept to find refuge.
Pray for our friend Joseph Wangombe. The thugs came to where he is housing refugees , and tried to knock the walls down to get to them. These people have already lost their homes, and family members.
Please pray for all the innocent people being victimized by this atrocity. These people have done nothing, and we need you all not to forget them. There are so many more stories so just pray that this ends, and that they all remain safe.

We are asking for your prayers at this time as the tribal unrest has spread to the Nakuru area. Please keep Joseph, Jotham and his family in your prayers. Joseph told me that the Kikuyu’s (of course those of thug mentality) are now seeking revenge and burning homes and hurting innocent people.
Please know that this is nothing but thugs wreaking this havoc on people who have done nothing to deserve this.
One woman sought refuge at Jotham’s and she has four small children. Her husband is away and they told her to get her belongings, and leave or she would have her home set on fire. This is very close to home for us now. Pray for a hedge of protection around Joseph, Jotham, and his family, and the church, and clinic, and of course all of the innocent people who are suffering in Kenya because of all of this indiscriminate violence. Pray that their night is peaceful… WE NEED PEACE! PLEASE PRAY HARD!

Sunday was a full day of Ministry for Joseph & his partners. They started their day ministering to the families and children who live in the dump. Another heart wrenching experience, but he can never really explain how humbling this is. It is something that you cannot quite explain, but you would have to experience to it understand. He said that some of the friends he serves with who have lived in this area all of their lives never new that this place exstisted. People here live off the the waste that is on this dump, but Joseph said he has met some wonderful people here. He met a woman named Dorcas who was so happy that they came to see them today, and help them that she wept, and that made him weep. They also met a woman who has 5 children, and she has cerebral malaria. She is not always coherent to care for her children, but Dorcas tries to help her. these are just a few of the stories. Please pray fro these people as we continue to minister to them.

I just wanted to let everyone know who I sent a letter out to about our young friend Dominic that he is now Home! He arrived home yesterday with his grandmother. When at his grandmothers he went to check on getting tickets for them to get back to Nakuru. He is not familiar with the area, and became lost. He had to hide until daylight because of all the turmoil in this area, and being he was afraid. He made it back to his Grandmothers that morning, and they immediately left for Nakuru. Praise God for this, and thank you for all your prayers!
I also briefly talked to joseph this morning. They were at the refugee camp. he cannot believe how many people are there…. thousands. He said that they are all sleeping under tarps, and it has been raining. The children are now getting ill. he keeps reiterating that we “CANNOT FORGET” these people. Please pray for them. There Homes have been burnt to the ground. They have lost all of their belongings, and in some cases they have witnessed horrible atrocities, and family members killed before their eyes. “I can’t help but to weep when see all of these people living like this. My heart breaks.” Joe told me today.
They also visited the land today with the hydro-geologist. The determined that there is “NO” water on the land. This was discouraging. But, when they discovered a small community of people living near the land they inquired about where there water came from, and they had a well. Joseph & Jotham told the community about there plans for the land and they are willing to let us tap into their well, and run pipes to our land. This actually will be better, and much more cost effective. They also met with the architect today, and are further developing the plans for the orphanage. Alot is happening! We are very excited.
They did a different type of outreach today to two street boys. instead of one mass outreach they are trying to take a more personal approach by taking two boys out for lunch. One boys name was Rubin, and the other is Stephen. Rubin is 12, and Stephen is 11. they have both been living on the streets for over a year. They do not go to school, and desperately need help. By spending this time with them they get the opportunity to meet these boys on more personal level. let them know how much they matter to God, and give them some hope. Joseph has really made inroads with these children, and they are starting to really know him,and trust him. This is all happening with the help of very special partners in Ministry here in Kenya. Bishop Jotham of course.Victor, Peter, Grace, Pastor Peter, and Job. Please keep praying for all of them & Kenya!
God Bless, and goodnight!

I am here writing this with a heavy heart. Our dear friend Dominic ( he is only 16) is missing, and he is in a Bad area with his grandma. They are trying to return to Nakuru. He has been missing for 12 hours the last time I talked to Joseph. Please pray that he is not hurt, and that he is okay and that he makes it back to Nakuru to be with his brother Joseph. I need all prayer warriors on this one. We need Dominic home safe & healthy.

Dear friends,
>
>As you may know there is crisis in Kenya right now & my husband
>Joseph, and four college age students (my dear friend Carolee’s
>daughter and her friend’s) are stranded in Nakuru. There is no gas,
>and the roads are to dangerous right now to travel.
>But, despite all the violence and turmoil they have found that this
>is their opportunity to serve the people in Kenya in an even more
>impactful way.
>
>Tomorrow they will be serving the refugees that are fleeing to Nakuru
>for safety, and the team has decided to try to help 3 different
>people so that they can get through this time. I am sending you the
>students blog from their My Space. Please read and if you feel like
>you would like to help please contact me.

>Current mood: hopeful

>Most of our friends have an idea about what is going on in Kenya
>right now. You know that the recent elections have stirred up a lot
>of trouble in this beautiful country. What you see in the news does
>not reflect the vast majority of the people of this nation. 99% of
>the Kenyan people simply want peace and want their country to remain
>a leader for the continent of Africa. This violence and strife needs
>to be brought to a quick halt. Yesterday Desmond Tutu came from
>South Africa to assist in reconciliation between the opposing
>parties along with a team of peace makers.
>
>Before we came on this trip we had some things in mind about what we
>would do during our stay here. Some of those things we have been
>able to do and see beautiful things come from them. Other things
>have not materialized because of the current state of the country.
>However, we always thought that a portion of what we would do while
>we were here would be planned during our visit. Now we can see why
>God has led us in that direction.
>
>Since we are here during this time of turmoil we have an incredible
>opportunity to reach out in rescue and hope. We have three different
>people that we know or that Joe and Jotham know personally that have
>tremendous needs in this hour. We are seeking ways to reach those
>with great needs that we know before we leave. And we are calling on
>you to help us.
>
>Rosebella is a mother of two. She is a widow. She works in Nairobi
>as a domestic worker (doing housework including cooking, cleaning,
>caring for a family, etc.) seven days a week for 14-16 hours a day.
>Rosebella makes 60 dollars per month. She earns only 2 dollars per
>day. Her children live in Nakuru right next to the church that we
>are connected with. Her sons are Dominic, 16 and Joseph, 12. These
>boys have lived in a tiny square house all alone for a long time.
>Before last week they had not seen their mother in a year. They were
>basically living as total orphans with no parents. Last week they
>traveled to Nyanza to visit their grandmother with their mom with
>Joe’s help. They are stranded in Nyanza now because of the election
>violence and have no way of getting out at the moment. They have not
>had any food for the last five days and we are desperately trying to
>find a way to help them. Joe is seeking a way to get them out of
>Nyanza. We have been talking and we’re going to try to raise enough
>money for them to live for the next few months as a family here in
>Nakuru. Her home in Nairobi has been burned down and her employers
>are stuck in Mombassa. We want to support her family while she finds
>a way to sustain herself here in Nakuru, with her boys.
>
>Another story is a woman named Mary. Mary has a husband, but he is
>stranded across the country. They have three children and seven
>orphans that they live with and care for. She is currently alone
>with the ten kids in Eldoret, one of the worst areas of the nation
>right now. They have been staying in a police station awaiting the
>opportunity to leave safely. Joe knows this woman and we wish to
>help them as well.
>
>Finally, Jotham has a sister named Catherine who runs an orphanage
>with about 30 children. He has not been able to contact her since
>Kibaki was sworn in as president last weekend. These children are
>supposed to return to school next week. We intend to help her as
>well so that these boys and girls can attend school despite the
>recent troubles.
>
>We need your help. Maybe you have wanted to help in some way but
>have felt clueless as to what you could do. This is often one of the
>paralyzing effects of seeing great suffering on the other side of
>the world. But these are real people that we know and have an
>opportunity to bring the reality of another kingdom into their lives
>in a tangible way now. Imagine what it would be like for these three
>groups of people to experience the tiny bit of rescue that we could
>bring together in this time of suffering. This is real.
>
>What we are going to do is ask you to give to these families to make
>a difference in their world. Over the next three days we are asking
>you to pool money together. Carolee will take the funds that are
>raised to Molly on Monday. Molly will then transfer the money to the
>account that Joe has here in Kenya and we will distribute the help
>to these families. Please rise up to be people of love in this hour.
>There is no doubt in our minds that God has placed us here in Kenya
>during these troubles to be his hands and feet to these people. This
>is not what we expected in the beginning, but God knew all along and
>had planned for this to be a part of our purpose here. Thank you for
>your prayers and your help for these families
